Come and visit me at the Los Angeles Times festival of Books April 24 and 25 at the University of California-Los Angeles campus! This event is the largest book festival in the United States.  I will be signing books from 10:30 to 11:30 on Sunday the 25th at my booth, B - 13 area B.

Hello and Welcome, Bienvenidos,

Thank you for those who have used my e-mail address to send me comments. They will certainly help me in proof-reading my three new books, El Dorado, Love's End and And Then. These take the young Palo Alto friends through their teen years and into adulthood, love, and deadly adventure.

It's my pleasure to announce that all of the first five books may be returned through Authorhouse's Booksellers Return Program Agreement.

I would very much like to publish your comments on this web page. If you will send me your views (even negative as long as factual) to my e-mail, I will put them in. Those in Spanish are just as welcome.

BPalmaPaloAlto@aim.com

Please just give me your name or nickname and if you want to, your city and school. If you are a teacher, please let me know, your comments are invaluable.

An article I wrote is the lead article for the May 2008 Alpha Delta Kappa bi-yearly Journal, THE KAPPAN.

The first two books are printed in Braille.

It is very exciting for now all five books are available through AuthorHouse. Readers can finally discover the last secret of ancient Hacienda Palo Alto.

I am writing question and answer sheets for each chapter to help teachers who use the books for bilingual education.

My Montessori Elementary School has just been named a model school for the State of Mexico. My books were orignally written for the children in my school. The mayor of our suburbian city will be giving my school a special certificate as we are number 22 in the national testing of 315 Elementary schools in the city. This is something to be very proud of as our Montessori School has 20% of students of special needs and they did well on the tests.

For the March anniversary of the school we had over 200 people participate in a "marathon" "walk-a-thon" in a nearby park.

At a white collar formal dinner, March 2008, at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, I was awarded an "oscar" by a national press club for fomenting excellence in education.

I will be interviewed next month on nation radio here in Mexico City about the books. People that have read the collection all have told me that they think that the five books would make a great adventure movie for young teens.

In June 2008, the school and 25 of my top students were given a special recognition by the Mayor of our suburbian city (over 3 million) for our being in the top 25 of the 315 schools in the city.

The international magazine "Montessori Life" Vol. 19, March 2007, has received a very important award in Washington, DC. I have an eight-page article in that issue. More later.

In April I will be having a book signing at the Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas. They are using my books in their bilingual literature classes.

This event surpassed my expectations, I talked to students from 2nd through 7th grade and many bought my books.  It was an exciting adventure.

I have talked to other classrooms and have sold all the books I take.

I was interviewed for two-and-a-half hours on international web radio, both about my books and my schools. It was a lot of fun.

Hope to hear from you all soon, Warmest Regards, B. Palma
